Hi, I’m Jane Hickey.
My childhood fascination with food growing in the natural environment (from avocados in Nairobi to blueberries in Helsinki) may have kick started my lifelong interest in the power of food to support good health. My later study of the science of nutrition took my interest to a new level and provided the training to become a qualified nutritional therapist.
What is Nutritional Therapy?
A nutritional therapy practitioner makes personalised food and lifestyle recommendations to promote health and wellbeing. Recommendations are based on a holistic assessment which takes into account a wide range of factors including physical and emotional health, and current food and lifestyle choices. Each assessment is based on a scientific evaluation of the biochemical processes underlying health issues. Whether you wish to enhance your wellbeing or you are suffering from a chronic condition, a nutritional therapist can help you to understand the impact of your food and lifestyle choices and support you to make the changes to improve your health.
The British Association for Lifestyle and Nutrition Medicine is the professional body regulating nutritional therapists to stay up to date with latest scientific research through continuing professional development. *Please note that Nutritional Therapists do not diagnose or treat disease. If you suspect you have a medical condition, please consult your GP for medical advice, diagnosis and treatment.

I also hold an Advanced Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Coaching from the International Academy for Professional Development, specialising in stress mangement, building resilience and wellbeing choices. I have qualified in Sports Nutrition with the international Academy of Sports Nutrition.

Each pathway begins with a detailed questionnaire for you to complete before the initial breakthrough consultation, for a comprehensive discussion about your health history. This is followed by my holistic assessment of all the information, to identify priority areas to support your health and create a personalised plan for you, based on scientific evidence. My enhanced six month pathway includes the insights of gene tests to clarify specific gene variants known to affect health and heart rate variability data, a measure of the impact of stress on you. A schedule of check in reviews is arranged, with health and wellbeing coaching, to support you to make the changes to support your wellness.

I am committed to:
connecting with your story, your motivation and your priorities
creating a food and lifestyle pathway to nourish your wellbeing
guiding you through your journey to achieve your wellbeing goals
