“Jane is so lovely, helpful, and is very knowledgeable in what she does. I asked for help as I can't be calm around food due to food cravings. I used to feel hungry nearly all the time, even after having a meal. Sometimes it was a real hunger, but it was mostly cravings. It's been only a week since I started Jane's program, but I'm already seeing a lot of difference! I couldn't believe how what you eat can reduce food cravings. I love cream cakes and biscuits, so I used to have sweet things several times a day, but I haven't had any of those for a week and I feel quite calm about it. Jane made me feel comfortable by saying I don't have to give up my cakes, which I wasn't expecting her to say! I now feel that I can enjoy cakes as treats when I want to, rather than feeling I need to have more of it. I feel quite confident that I can carry on with this diet. I had forgotten how good smoothies and brown variety of foods were! I can't thank her enough for improving my diet whilst still enjoying food. Thank you!”

What is Nutritional Therapy?

A nutritional therapy practitioner makes personalised food and lifestyle recommendations to promote health and wellbeing. Recommendations are based on a holistic assessment which takes into account a wide range of factors including physical and emotional health, and current food and lifestyle choices. Each assessment is based on a scientific evaluation of the biochemical processes underlying health issues. Whether you wish to enhance your wellbeing or you are suffering from a chronic condition, a nutritional therapist can help you to understand the impact of your food and lifestyle choices and support you to make the changes to improve your health.

The British Association for Lifestyle and Nutrition Medicine is the professional body regulating nutritional therapists to stay up to date with latest scientific research through continuing professional development.

What is Health and Wellbeing Coaching?

Health and wellbeing coaching shapes the nature of consultations. Client-centred dialogue encourages clients to participate actively in discussions about their health. A coaching style to share scientific information about health creates a conversational exchange, to allow client and coach to participate equally. A coaching perspective acknowledges that change is not a simple process, so that goals are set realistically for recommendations relating to lifestyle changes. Coaching helps clients to develop their awareness of their power of choice, increasing their confidence to make judgments about their own health. Not only does health and wellbeing coaching help you in the present, but coaching helps you to become your own self-coach for your future health goals.

The framework and context of health and wellbeing coaching are underpinned by principles of psychology, drawing on a range of resources and techniques from Positive Psychology and Cognitive Behavioural Coaching.
